Free Article Marketing Tactics Series in the Totally Free Article Marketing section. I am practicing the methods in these articles to promote the articles themselves in the same way.

So I know I haven’t been as active as I first intended, but I hope to change all that. To start, I’m going to focus on specific section of this site in order to build each section up to a level I’m happy with, starting with a few marketing tactics to get more visitors coming, followed by an extensive series on how I use all the WordPress plugins for optimal pages, placement, marketing, and monetization.

So the first set of marketing tactics are going to revolve around article marketing. However, as several sections will overlap as, several of the tips can and should be used in other areas too, and I will restate, interlink, and expand on them when I get to the other tools and marketing techniques I use.

This Article Marketing Series will be a cornerstone for this site, and among the first marketing methods implemented. They will make up the Totally Free Article Marketing section and soon that page will be set up as a gateway to them. I will practice the methods in these articles, to promote the articles themselves in the same way. These methods (and a few others) should increase the flow of traffic to this site, and with any luck, I can start seeing some revenue generated from AdSense clicks and a couple of affiliate products I recommend.

Following the series, your going to learn the “other” methods I’m currently using to promote these articles and more. So look out for more free tools and how I’m using them in the near future on TotallyFreeWebSiteTools.com!

I was helping out a friend and he wanted to add a forum to his web site and already had WordPress installed. So I browsed through the plugins, and though I found a few nice ones that integrate others or provide some simple functionality, I didn’t find anything that was really easy and full of features at the same time. So I did a couple of quick Google searches, and found a great free forum plugin for WordPress!

I’m happy to announce, Totally Free Web Site Tools now includes Simple Press Forum, a plugin that adds an extensive forum to your WordPress site with very little setup. Though it’s not in the WordPress plugins repository, a quick download and upload to your plugins folder, a few clicks, and your on your way to creating a great forum, totally built-in to WordPress!

I’ve got this plugin running on both my friend’s site and here on TotallyFreeWebSiteTools.com, I can’t wait to start filling it out with forums and topics, and you should go there and introduce yourself now! Once I get it all figured out, I post some more info!

With Google’s latest release of their Chrome browser, one of the most noticed features is the extensions capability. IMO, this is the one feature that was holding Chrome back as a true competitor with Firefox, being that Firefox could be highly customized and extended with literally thousands of extensions available. With it’s super fast start-up time and the minimalist interface approach, I used Google Chrome only on occasion to look something up quickly or on the go. I used Firefox with all the extensions I could possibly want on a regular basis, and it served my purpose well, where Chrome lacked the many features I have grown used to having in Firefox.

Now that Google Chrome has the added extensions feature, and several Firefox favorites have already been ported, I think Chrome has a real chance of competing with Firefox for our attention. I know it has my attention and I’m using it just as much as Firefox now, though I’ve already got so much invested in Firefox and things already setup like I want them, so there’s no push for completely moving over to Chrome yet.

What Extensions Are You Using?

So I am an extension addict (plugins too, for the WordPress users out there), and the first thing I checked out after I upgraded was the extensions. I was impressed when I found several of my favorite Firefox extensions listed. I was further impressed with the ease at which managing them was. One in particular is awesome enough, a lot of my SEO research tabs have moved to Google Chrome! More on that below, where I list all the extensions I am using right now. But enough about my thoughts. What do you think these new features mean for Chrome’s competition? There is also some things going on with Chrome APIs, not to keen on what that’s about yet. Post your comments below!

What Google Chrome Extension’s Am I Using?

1-ClickWeather for Chrome – I’m a Weather.com fan, and when I saw a Weather.com extension and the vague idea I had from the text, I had to try it out, and I’m glad I did. It’s not all inclusive, and I think it could be expanded, but it does give a decent view of the current weather, radar image, and several links to key Weather.com local area pages, including the Classic Animated Radar Map, which sold me.

AdBlock – What more can I say, it blocks the ads. Firefox users will be familiar with this one. I’m very happy to see it here. A second plugin, Browser Button for AdBlock adds a button to the right side of the toolbar so you can easily turn it off if needed.

Bookmark Tree – I searched for this one. It adds a yellow star button to the right side of the toolbar, which produces a drop-down list of your favorites in a folder tree view. I had been using the bookmarks bar for one-click access to some sites I used most often in Chrome (which before was few). This seems a much better option and frees up more screen space, I love how slim Google Chrome is!

Chrome SEO – Here it is! This is the SEO tool that I liked so much I moved many tabs away from Firefox and into Chrome (sorry Firefox, I still love you). I used SEO Quake in Firefox because it was all encompassing and I could easily turn it on and off. There might be other alternatives like this, so please let me know. But this extension, Chrome SEO, gives the main site statistics I look at in a nice little drop down menu from an icon added to the right side of the toolbar, including page ranks, inbound links, and quite a few others, plus links to more. It only runs when you click it, so it isn’t hogging any bandwidth when you really don’t need it, which was the deciding factor in my case.

Session Manager – Oh the joys! My Firefox would not be complete without my long list of saved sessions, of which I use three or four regularly. The absence of this feature has been the main cause for me not to move to Chrome. I have way to much going on and things I need to check out that I have to have my saved sessions. I haven’t had enough time to really test them out in Chrome yet, but I look forward to the experience.

Give Me More!

That’s it for now. I am sure I will add more as time goes, but I have enough to learn for now. You can find more extensions at chrome.google.com/extensions. You can also learn more about the plugins feature at “Google Chrome Blog: Over 1,500 new features for Google Chrome“. So check them out, and let me know what you find is great about the new Google Chrome!

Some really great tools can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. The great thing is there are also many great tools that are totally free, and I have found that every tool you could pay for has competition that is giving away a similar tool for free.

If your doing anything with a web site, you know there are tools. Professional tools, home user tools, expensive software, freeware…there are literally millions of different tools for working on web sites and adding features to web sites. Some really great tools can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. The great thing is there are also many great tools that are totally free, and I have found that every tool you could pay for has competition that is giving away a similar tool for free. The goal of this blog and web site is to inform you about the many free tools you can use to accomplish your goals, instead of buying expensive programs, often with costly upgrades. Make sure there isn’t a free alternative first. In affect, we want to show you how to build an online business using free web site tools to turn any web site into a money making machine.

So your interested in making money online, right? You want to start an online business? You probably have been through lots of sites and ideas, some probably scams, and you don’t know where to go? There’s probably so much information your getting overloaded. Or are you still stuck searching for “home based businesses”?

Well we’ve been through the process and this is our second time around. Our first web site is now making from $300 -$400 per month, and the only thing being done is making a post once a week, check a few other things, and let it ride. That’s right, probably less than five hours a week. It’s a small niche and instead of pushing it further, we’re going to start a new site. Still, it was a good start and proves one point – no matter what niche, you CAN make money online from it. Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot of work and time spent learning how to get to that point, but once your there, it gets easier. It also becomes easier to duplicate, so now we are starting several new sites to duplicate our efforts and in the same process show you how to do it too. This site is going to walk through the entire process of building a site to the point where you only spend a few hours a week to sustain an income (or at least supplement it if you has a smaller niche market). As I said, it takes time to build an online business for free. If you need an immediate income, I suggest checking out our list of work at home jobs, legit virtual jobs hiring now to work from home, mainly USA but some others countries too.

Also, as this is meant to be a start to finish documentary type blog, I will be starting with the basics. I will also post an outline of the entire process in a few days, with more detailed posts and articles about each step along the way. In an effort to keep these posts smaller, it will take a few posts to begin getting into the meat of making money online. First there are some preliminary steps to take, setting up the web site and all kinds of other things. Look forward to more info on free tools to use and a guide to starting up a web site and your online business.

If at any point there seems to be confusion or you would like some more information, please join the discussion in the questions and comments area below each post. They are well maintained and a great way to communicate with us.

Hi, my name is Chris, aka WebGuru at TheGadgitech.com. I’m the guy running the backend of TheGadgitech.com, modifying and customizing the code behind this site, changing and modifying the theme, running the many plugins and maintenance involved with this site. And so far I’ve been a somewhat silent partner as we build this site. But I see the potential here and want to join in and take a more active part in what’s to come.

Now, I am not an expert, but I have learned a lot and want to share it. Please, if you have any questions, comments, ideas, criticisms… join the discussion in the questions and comments area at the bottom of my blog posts.

So on to the goal, of teaching you what I’ve learned. One of the keys to making money on the internet, as we do, is making these posts. So…

Welcome to TotallyFreeWebSiteTools.com! We want to show you the tools and techniques to use to build a money making machine. I plan to write about free tools to help promote your site and all kinds of things related to designing and developing a web site like this one, for free. There are so many areas I want to cover, like SEO and Blogs and Design and Social Networking and…I could go on and on, so this may even expand to other sections. But the major goal is to help you make your site the best it can be. There’s so many little things that make a difference, some small, some big. Come here to learn all the things we did to get where we are!

Now that that’s said, I’ve already given you the first tidbit of how we’ve gotten to where we are. Did anyone catch it?

Content. Content. Content.
Content is KING!

Sure, all the other stuff makes a big difference too. But the content has to be there, and be updated and unique and well written, so that people can pick up on it and spread the word. And for those who are already doing that and not making money, it’s the “other stuff” that you need, and we’ll get to that and more in future posts!

For now, start thinking about what the topic of your site will be. Do some Google searches and check out your competition, what are they writing about, what else are they doing? Read some related posts from Technorati and other big article sites and see how they are written. There is always something more to learn…

If you want it all now, you can look through our blog for some tips, or better yet check out Michael Cheney’s Newbies Complete Guide. It’s not free, but it covers everything here and more. We have used Michael’s information a great deal when marketing our other sites. We are using many of the same techniques here and showing you them for free, and in much greater detail. However, Michael Cheney is rich and famous from using his techniques and selling his videos, so please check out his Newbies Guide, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. Also check out his free information around the internet, there are lots of great tips out there from Michael and many other internet marketers. When we started finding Michael’s free tips, we used them and boosted our first site’s traffic and income 10 fold, and recently bought one of Michael Cheney’s traffic video series which quickly helped us doubled again our traffic and income, and we haven’t even finished implementing even half the methods he shows you. It has been a pretty good success, but remained a small niche topic.

In the meantime, if you need a real job until your online business takes off, check out our list of legit work from home virtual jobs
